Recently I needed to view a storyboard, to keep me on track, and read a script while screen recording on my laptop. I could use my iPad for either the story board or the script but I thought I might need yet another device to view both. After some investigation I discovered that I can open, and work independently, in two applications at once on my iPad. Here are the four easy steps:
Step 1- Open each application you wish to use, independently, and select the desired files. This will put the icon for these applications in the dock.
Close the applications.
Swipe up to show the dock
Tap one of the applications in the dock.
Open the file you wish to use in the first application.
Step 2-Swipe up from bottom of your iPad screen to show the dock again
Step 3-Pull the second application to the far left or right so that the dark sidebar appears.
The preferred file will reappear in the first application after you complete this step.
Step 4- Tap the application menu to open the file you wish to use in the second application and adjust the size of the applications to create equal sizes.
You must use two separate applications, you cannot open two files in the same application. You can work independently in each application. Hope you find this useful!
